Nineties girl group TLC was not at all impressed by Rihanna’s transparent Swarovski crystal dress.

“Every time I see you, you don’t have to be naked,” TLC declared.

Women are so often objectified, that when making autonomous decisions to look sexy, our choices are socially forbidden. Blame: the implied male gaze.
